Hi Friends,
Here we are the midway point of 2022 and what a ride it’s been so far. This month we start off with the New Moon in Gemini that was activated on May 30th giving us an opportunity to think of things in a different way. However, we also have Mercury (ruler of this New Moon) which is still retrograde and maybe causing us to rethink the past before we can move forward. But fortunately Mercury will go direct in the first week of the month.
Our motivation will be quite high in June as self-directed Mars and adventurous Jupiter are now transiting Aries. Mars feels very comfortable in the sign that it rules, expressing its desire to challenge itself or others in any way possible. Jupiter enjoys being in Aries as well because it feels like it can experience and learn something new from Aries need for excitement. With this combination in play in June the themes for month are “experience something new” and “talk to as many people as possible”.
Now that the Sun is traveling through talkative Gemini, our ideas and conversations will be plentiful. It may feel a bit sluggish as we start the month because of Mercury still in retrograde until June 3rd, but once Mercury picks up speed over the next few days; we’re off to the races. Mercury goes direct in Taurus, ending its three week retrograde phase which started on May the 10th. Feelings of stagnation and confusion will end, making it easier to put plans into action.
We will have some karma from the past to deal with on June 4th when responsible Saturn goes retrograde in Aquarius. Saturn retrograde in the sign of Aquarius is urging us to make major karmic choices that will affect our lives for many years to come. During this time, we’ll be assessing all commitments and navigating the new direction we wish to take. It’s time for us to think deeply about our future and what energy we want to keep in our lives. This isn’t a horrible time to commit—in fact, it’s a great time to decide who and what you want to invest your energy and time in. Relationships can thrive and grow during this transit if we’re able and willing to put in the effort.
We’ll have some unpredictability on June 11th as Venus conjunct Uranus in Taurus. Venus conjunct Uranus transit brings change and excitement with love, money and partnerships. During this transit our increased need for stimulation can lead to sudden changes, or we may be subject to unexpected changes around us; example; surprise conversations, irregular behavior from friends and family, sudden expenses or financial matters (positive or negative). Since this transit will activate the Uranus energy, we may rebel or do something to put our relationships at risk.
If it’s not about relationship for you, then impulsiveness can also be found through investing in something you wouldn’t ordinarily invest in. You may find yourself suddenly spending money on the latest technology or buying things like clothing, cosmetics and jewelry. Do remember to spend within your budget because financial losses are just as likely as financial windfalls at this time. The creative energy will be quite high during this transit and you may find yourself thinking outside the box with regards to your own unique style. Finally, surprises may also come in the form of invitations, gifts, compliments, or curious and kinky offers.
The need to express ourselves goes through the roof on June 13th when Mercury re-enters its home sign of Gemini. Whatever you were involved with before Mercury moved backward in Taurus will finally be ready for forward momentum again. All the thoughts and ideas in our heads can now be put into good use during this transit. Whether its writing, speaking, vlogging, or coming to a conclusion about something or someone, the need to interact with another will be quite high with Mercury in Gemini.
This month’s Full Moon on June 14th will highlight the philosophical sign of Sagittarius. The Gemini-Sagittarius polarity is a mental axis, where Gemini represents the “lower mind” and Sagittarius represents the “higher mind.” The Gemini Sun encourages us to think logically, while the Sagittarius Moon persuades us to think in a broader manner. Sagittarius symbolizes the quest for meaning and ideas that expand upon the “here and now.” Gemini is quite comfortable in its immediate environment or neighborhood, while Sagittarius stimulates us to venture beyond it.
This Full Moon is about communication, attitude, and a sense of adventure. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We’ll need to express them. This lunation will also be a Super Moon (closer to earth) which will illuminate the conflict between logic and intuition or faith. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness.
From June 16th – June 20th we have some turbulent alignments occurring between the Sun and Neptune and Venus and Saturn. First up will be the Sun square Neptune on June 16th which has a weakening effect on our vitality, making it hard to get motivated or enthusiastic about anything, especially hard work. As well as being allergic to work, we may also be more susceptible to some psychological and health issues. Events or other people can cause confusion and disappointment, which may force us to battle against the odds. It is normal under this influence to feel insecure, guilty, and apologetic.
Over idealization and gullibility can lead to loss, scandal, or slander at this time. Personal relationships may be subject to dishonesty and deception during this transit. Secrets will be harder to keep and harder to uncover. However, our creativity and imagination do make this a good time for art, music, dance, and drama. Entertainment, charity work, and fighting for social causes are excellent ways to use this ethereal energy safely. Religion and other forms of spirituality or ceremony will help out if we start to lose faith.
On the June 18th, Venus will square Saturn highlighting our values and self-worth within ourselves or another. This transit can add stress to our love life because of delays, shyness, distance, or other relationship problems. Most of these hindrances will stem from our own fears or criticisms, but we may face the same from others. To maintain harmony in relationships, it would be better to spend some time alone, but don’t ignore the affections and love of others either. Putting in the extra effort will reduce the risk of relationship dramas.
It is common under this influence to feel lonely and depressed, totally normal for human life. It will pass quickly and then you can get back to a harmonious and peaceful existence. Money can also be tight with this transit so avoid a tendency toward wasting money and other resources. Although motivation may be lacking and you would prefer to be lazy, this transit may require hard work to maintain our present relationship(s), career, or other valued parts of life. This is no time to be ignoring our responsibilities, especially when it comes to loved ones.
And speaking of loved ones, the Sun enters the family sign of Cancer on June 21st marking the Summer Solstice in Northern Hemisphere. We are self-protective and insular under this influence. Our attention turns to our nest–our families, homes, and anything that makes us feel “at home”, safe, and secure. Nurturing and taking care of our loved ones and our pet projects comes into focus. Emotions run deep, and we easily tune into the world of feelings. Note that we are more in tune with the Moon while the Sun is in Cancer.
We may not want to grow up or face responsibilities or the outside world during this solar cycle. We should watch for dependence when we’d do better for ourselves otherwise. However, it’s a powerful transit for recognizing our needs for comfort, safety, and familiarity. We’re inclined to form strong bonds and protect our loved ones. In Cancer, the Sun’s ego-centered energy combines with the reflective, hidden energy of Luna. The past is important to Cancer, as is the concept of nurturing – both self and others.
Curiosity within relationships will be the theme when Venus enters Gemini on June 22nd. With Venus in Gemini, we have a finger in every pie. Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels. “Variety is the spice of life” is the motto now. We are sociable, communicative, charming, and interested. While we can be animated and fun during this transit; we may also keep our distance on an emotional level. Attractions now may begin with words, as we tend to bond more readily on a mental level while Venus is in Gemini. The shadow side of Gemini is fickleness or disinterest in the mundane.
This month’s New Moon on June 28th will spotlight the sensitive sign of Cancer. The New Moon in Cancer is a good time to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Crab. These include honoring our deepest, most irrational and intimate, feelings; recognizing the sense of security and safety we derive from whatever it is we call home; allowing ourselves to accept support and offering support to others; and starting a project aimed at improving our domestic lives or a major long-term venture. With this potent Cancer energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives that will benefit us well beyond this Moon cycle.
It’s time to make some plans and set the stage for reaping the rewards from our new beginnings, as little or big as they may be, in approximately two weeks’ time after the Full Moon occurs. Concentrate on new ways to enhance family life and domestic affairs, and to build up your feelings of security and safety. However, our motivation will be quite high during this lunation because this New Moon will be squaring Jupiter in Aries, we should watch for overdoing it, exaggeration, and misjudgment or false starts.
