February 2024 Astrology Overview & Video Horoscopes

Hi Friends,
Strap in for a wild ride in February! This is because Uranus has awakened from its retrograde nap and moving full speed ahead, the Sun is transiting Aquarius, Pluto is now in Aquarius and three planets will confront Pluto by mid-month, “But wait, there’s more” –the New Moon in Aquarius will also square unpredictable Uranus. Talk about a heavy Aquarian/Uranus energy…WOW!

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus making this a very rebellious, eccentric, and spontaneous month. Uranus energy is liberating–it wants us to break free from structure and limitation. Its purpose is evolution, experimentation, and growth. Although Uranus can sometimes live in reaction mode, it motivates us to think and act outside of the box. Uranus in its purest form is intuition itself. However, at times it surprises, jolts, and stimulates. The emphasis in February is unconventional and innovating change for the greater good.

New ideas, new structures, and new modes of thought. Only a complete overhaul will satisfy this revolutionary energy. Uranus acts to disrupt, change, and re-do whatever it touches. Uranus frees us from thinking inside the box and offers us opportunities to reach out and try something completely new. While Saturn slows us down, Uranus speeds up our lives, offering us chances to take some risks and experiment with totally new ways of living and interacting with others and our environment. Uranus is forward-looking and does not have patience with lifestyles or attitudes that are attached to the past or the traditional.

On February 5th Mercury will join the Aquarian party as well. When Mercury is in Aquarius, we are hungry for knowledge and open to new and original ideas. We begin to think outside of the box, and our thinking becomes more progressive and objective. Our communication and thought patterns are spontaneous, somewhat fragmented, and liberal. This is a time when inventive thinking is at a peak.

The New Moon this month will also highlight Aquarius on February 9th. The Aquarius New Moon cycle is about friendship, brotherhood, group activities, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, humanitarian efforts, or joining a group. New beginnings regarding any or all of these matters are possible now.

This is a time during which we should solve problems that require thinking unconventionally. We look to the future with a new, positive, and hopeful vision, frequently brainstorming and socializing, and focus on extending a friendly hand, receiving support, and expressing platonic love for those around us. It’s a time to give our emotions and passions a “break”, as we develop more objectivity and some detachment from past experiences. However, this lunation will clash with its ruler, Uranus, bringing forth rebellious, impulsive, abrupt, and disruptive energy.

And talking about impulsive, abrupt, and disruptive energy…on steroids, Mars will enter Aquarius and conjunct powerful Pluto on February 14th. This transit is a dynamite waiting to explode. The dynamic energy during this period is highly erratic, unstable, and transformational. Achieving our goals through hit-or-miss tactics, and impersonal expressions of anger are characteristics of Mars and Pluto in Aquarius.

This alignment can also bring an incredible increase in ambition, sex drive, and lust for power. A tendency toward selfishness can lead to ruthless behavior and even violence if something stands in our way. We cannot ignore this powerful energy; trying to bury it will only result in outbursts of temper or subversive action. It may manifest in people or events around us if we don’t chase our desires and express this willful energy, and this would be more dangerous as we have less control over such situations.

On February 16th, Venus repeats the same conjunction with Pluto as it enters Aquarius as well. This transit is about powerful destructive allies with an incredible need for passion. The intensity level during this alignment is very strong. We will be wielding greater power to attract others. We can have a magnetic attractiveness that pulls people in subconsciously. Problems can arise if we consciously misuse our increased pulling power. In this case, there will be a tendency to manipulate others by guilt-tripping or other subversive tactics. Relationships of all kinds can transform now, from weird behavior possessiveness, and jealousy.

The energy begins to soften on February 18th when the Sun enters compassionate Pisces. With the Sun in Pisces, we are guided by altruistic feelings. We are less motivated to do than we are to feel, imagine, and dream. A “what will be, will be” attitude reigns, and we are guided by a sense of universal correlations. Pisces rules empathy, selfless love, devotion, and wisdom. Its shadow side can include self-pity, a feeling of being victimized by life, passivity, and elusiveness.

While we may not always verbalize or express our feelings and impressions during this cycle, they’re strong and motivating. We prefer to believe and trust, giving things/people the benefit of the doubt until they prove us wrong. We might often tune out problems or conflicts rather than tackle them head-on, hoping they will iron themselves out. Prosperity flows when we’re connecting with our hearts, being kind, and helping others. The need to withdraw or retreat to restore our energy is strong from time to time.

The cosmic lovers (Venus & Mars) will be joining forces on February 22nd. This transit adds yet more energy, passion, and intensity to our lives. We should feel more sociable and eager to have fun and express our passionate desires. This alignment brings strength, courage, vitality, and confidence. It allows us to develop our creativity and competitive potential.

Our minds are more prone to escape reality on February 23rd when Mercury enters Pisces. When Mercury is in Pisces, our thinking processes are more visual, intuitive, and imaginative. We are especially attuned to the world of emotion, which colors both our thoughts and our communication style. We guess well, express ourselves with imagination, and make decisions intuitively. We are more attracted to consciousness-raising information.

It’s not always easy to verbalize our impressions during this cycle. We don’t enjoy being pinned down, labeling, or strictly defining things. We recognize that life isn’t always logical, and we prefer not to think in black-and-white terms. We’re sensitive and impressionable, which means we can take in more than usual and it can sometimes overwhelm us. Pisces needs periodic time alone or to go within to regenerate and detox.

This month’s Full Moon will highlight the analytical sign of Virgo on February 24th. During this lunation, we are asked to find a balance between day-to-day functions and routines, physical health, and the need for order (Virgo) and vision, spiritual health, disorder, and the infinite (Pisces). Virgo is associated with techniques we use to deal with day-to-day life, while Pisces is associated with what we employ to manage our spiritual lives.

Some sort of crisis (which can be a crisis of consciousness) or sudden awareness of a lack in our lives provides us with a golden opportunity to explore our emotional needs within the context of the house polarity where the Full Moon occurs in our birth charts. This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between work and service, practicality and impracticality, criticism and acceptance. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives now.
